Bartın University (BARÜ) participated in the 36th EAIE Conference and Exhibition, one of the leading gatherings in the field of international higher education. Held in Glasgow, Scotland, EAIE 2026 brought together higher education representatives, institutions and organisations from around the world. Organised this year under the theme “The Rhythm of Revolution,” the event provided BARÜ with the opportunity to hold international cooperation meetings with 64 higher education institutions from 35 countries.
BARÜ took part in the “Study in Türkiye” pavilion coordinated by the Turkish National Agency and was represented by Instructor Dr Esra Eroğuz Çoban and Instructor Kardelen Yaman from the Erasmus Coordination Office. As part of the programme, which aimed to strengthen Türkiye’s international visibility in higher education, BARÜ presented its academic activities, internationalisation vision, and education and training opportunities.
İlker Astarcı, President of the Turkish National Agency, also visited the BARÜ stand and received information about the University’s internationalisation activities as well as its student and staff mobility programmes. Throughout the event, meetings were held with university representatives from numerous countries, including Brazil, Canada, China, South Korea, Japan, Italy, Portugal, Argentina and Romania.
Emphasising the importance of international engagement in advancing BARÜ’s internationalisation vision, Rector Prof. Dr Ahmet Akkaya stated that the University would continue to take an active role in the world’s leading higher education platforms.
