European Green Deal Erasmus Nature Camp

The European Green Deal Erasmus Nature Camp, a KA152 youth project supported by the Turkish National Agency, took place in Bartın from November 3 to 9, 2024. The camp offered a vibrant and educational week centered around themes of sustainability and nature conservation.

Young participants from Portugal, Poland, Greece, Serbia, and Austria joined students from Bartın University for an unforgettable experience. Throughout the camp, activities such as tent pitching taught outdoor living skills, while hiking in Horma Canyon emphasized the importance of natural beauty. Each morning began with invigorating yoga exercises, and colorful cultural nights showcased the diversity of participating nations. 

Among the activities, tree planting stood out as a meaningful contribution to nature, offering participants the chance to forge a deeper connection with the environment. The project prioritized raising awareness about sustainability and the importance of preserving nature, fostering environmental consciousness among young people. 

Bartın University Rector Prof. Dr. Orhan Uzun welcomed the project participants and met with the guests. In his speech, Rector Uzun highlighted the significance of such projects in developing environmental awareness among youth, emphasizing Bartın University's commitment to supporting sustainability-focused initiatives. 

Hosted by Bartın University, this meaningful camp served as a platform where participants created unforgettable memories, built bridges of friendship across different cultures, and strengthened their environmental awareness. 

Aligned with the objectives of the European Green Deal, the project contributed to shaping young individuals into more environmentally conscious citizens, advocating for nature and sustainability.
